Error 0xFFFFFFFE - When trying to run Lord of the Rings Online

I recently installed the Lord of the Rings online on my computer, but when I attempt to run it I get a message"Unknown error (0xFFFFFFFE). What should I do about it? I am using a Windows 7 x64.

Often this error comes up when you have spyware and/or viruses on the PC.  Download and install Microsoft Security Essentials fromhttp://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/ and run it (do a COMPLETE SCAN) once you've updated it's software.

I have different issues but the same error message. I downloaded and installed Microsoft Security Essentials. I then ran a complete scan as well. However, the issues are not resolved. I have Windows 7 and AVG Anti-Virus.

I also have gotten this error code after having a problem with a virus that I thought was eradicated but most likely I have some vestiges or a mutation of it hiding some place because I have had nothing but trouble ever since it appeared. I find that some of my software will not open at all. Some of it gives an error message. some of it opens but returns  "Unexplained Errors" preventing it from continuing. I have a problem with MS Fix It generating this error & I have a posting in the Fix it forum. So far I haven't heard from them.

I have defrag, chkdsk, and Avast Anti-Virus, Spybot Search & Destroy and Ad-Adaware. SpyBot indicated that it found a virus that it got rid of. I have run CCleaner Registry Cleaner but the problem persists.

Right now I am running MS Security essentials which indicates that it has found either malware or unnecessary software but I have to wait for the scan to end to get the specifics.

I will try to get more specifics on this problem when I get them.

I have the same problem with this code, and have the MSE installed. Problem is i can't run it,or an update on it.
I can't run most programs, due to abnormal program termination, and also my pc system crashes with the following code: Stop: 0x00000050
I am running windows 7 32 bit (x86)
Please help.. Thank you.
