0x80000003 unable to start correctly

Hi

I cannot  open Word 2010 or Powerpoint 2010 (excel works fine). When I try, it says "The application was unable to start correctly (0x80000003). Click OK to close the application."

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft Office, and the problem persists.

Please help! I am a computer beginner so not sure what to do next.

Hi,

We are encountering this issue on multiple networked computers at my company.  So far we have determined Symantec/Norton antivirus is part of the problem.  I believe the antivirus is conflicting with a recent Windows update.  

If you are using Norton, try uninstalling it.  I just put a help ticket in with Symantec to see if they can help resolve the issue so we can get the programs working while the antivirus is installed.
