Windows 7 laptop will not Shutdown completely

I bought a new laptop 6 mnths ago with windows 7 64 bit installed. worked fine up till 2 weeks ago. every time i shut down it stays on the shutdown screen till the battery goes flat. When i turn it back on it says windows has recovered from an unexpected shut down. any ideas coz im all out?

Try following the method s provided below and check if it helps:

Method 1:

It might be some third party application is causing this issue. Put the system in clean boot. Follow the steps mentioned in the article given below to configure the system in clean boot and check.

Note: After you have finished installing, follow step 7 in the article to boot to normal startup.

 

Method 2:

You cannot make a computer that is running Windows 7 shut down or sleep

Also try running the performance troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Method 3:

Also check event viewer

Event Viewer is a tool that displays detailed information about significant events on your computer.
