Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 mouse: do not use the new Intellipoint

I have the Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 B7T-00020-B. The keyboard works fine with the newest driver, but the Intellipoint software recommended for this mouse [Model: 1052] by Widows Update causes the magnifier and mouse instructions to run randomly wih no way to stop it. You have to boot into safe mode to remove the driver BUT it leaves a condition behind that affects normal mouse function. Menus will not roll down and stay, they go back too fast to click on. The <back> button in Explorer does not work. My fix was to re-install Intellipoint, download Revo Uninstaller and boot into safe mode and used it to scrub the driver out of the woodwork.
