Last night (20170124) Windows 10 indicated updates needed to be scheduled.
Completed at 3:00am (20170125) After logging in Windows had to configure itself.
In these first few minutes these are the problems discovered so far:
1. Had to re-register Microsoft Office.
2. Can't access internet through EDGE (Fortunately have GoogleChrome and it allows access).
3. Excel doesn't seem stable, as locked up a few times in the last hour.
Once again Microsoft is not fully testing the updates it pushes, then waits for feedback from the users Microsoft tortures. I expect there will be another update in the future to correct the update just completed.
3:00pm edit: I worked most of the day (using Email, Excel, and Google Chrome) and have seen all of the replies and suggestions. A few minutes ago I restarted (re-booted) the PC and Microsoft EDGE now works! Hopefully everything else functions as well. FYI: Since the update problem I had in September with the much larger Windows 10 update, where I reverted Windows to the earlier version before the update, and then received the corrected update in October (that actually worked) I have delayed Windows being updated automatically as long as the schedule allows me to (I wouldn't let it update for a year if I could). I have learned over several years that a Windows update or a Virus protection software update are the main reasons problems occur. In the case of Windows 10 being so knew I think a lot of the software companies had to learn how to ensure their software was tested and retested for correct functionality, and this includes Microsoft testing between their software products (Windows10, EDGE, OFFICE) and then testing with other companies software. A significant task for those companies which I understand, but in most cases I would prefer to have my PC running then to have to go through the experience, the trial and error, the clicking here then there, they provide when these companies do updates (not to mention the time lost). My guess is the updates that were installed 3:00am this morning, rebooted the computer, and then one of those other updates listed in the subject box, loaded and needed another re-boot which is maybe why EDGE works after the 3:00pm restart. Thank you Microsoft for another worthy experience!
