why is Windows 10 final build showing 100% CPU usage?

Original title: Windows 10 final build 100% CPU usage

Hello,

today I updated my Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. It works fine, but CPU usage stays at 100% all the time. I found another related topics, but none of them gave a solution.

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_wintp-insider_perf/windows-10-10162-doesnt-allow-updates-and-cpu/45961512-e017-4db2-a8c2-b7b453551c96

I tried Clean Boot and problem still exists. However, it doesn't appear in a Safe Mode.

I don't have any third party antivirus, I watch CPU usage when my PC is completely idle. There are no updates available via Windows Store.

PC Configuration:

  • Intel i5 2500K
  • AsRock P67 Pro3 B3
  • 8 GB DDR 1333 MHz
  • GeForce GTX 970
  • SSD Drive (system) + 3 HDD
  • TPLINK TL-WN881ND Wi-Fi
  • Asus Xonar DS

I had this same problem, but I was able to fix it by updating my Mother board BIOS, and I have an ASRock motherboard as well. Had this discussion on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/3f31hb/windows_10_task_manager_shows_cpu_usage_at_100_is/ctl5fx7

PC Configuration:

  • Intel i7 2600K
  • AsRock P67 Extreme4B3
  • 16 GB DDR 1333 MHz
  • GeForce GTX 770
  • SSD Drive (system) + 1 HDD
