Tech Support Refund Scam or True?

I just received a call from someone from "Tech Support" stating that they are no longer able to work in the US and that I was due a refund of $199.  He wanted me in front of my computer so that I could enter a code which would allow me to receive the refund.  I know that I have had tech support in the past but when I asked him question he became testy stating I was accusing him of being untruthful.  I did not trust the situation  and hung up.   The telephone # 210-209-9450 was from San Antonio, TX.  Has anyone else received this call?

Sounds like another variant of the many Tech Support scams.

This is my standard reply:

Do not allow access to your computer.

Just hang up on those scammers.

Microsoft doesn't call you if you didn't ask them to call you.

Do not trust unsolicited calls. Do not provide any personal information.

Sounds like the same company that got me.  Claimed they were working with Century Link and charged me $199 for nothing as I could see what they were doing on the screen.  They just ran really long scans and when the scan would get over with, there'd be a long period of inactivity as they weren't doing anything .......... probably snooping around my computer.  I'm filing a dispute through my credit card as I know they're scammers. Said they only worked 8a-5p and not on weekends where any good remote tech company I've worked with, like Microsoft itself, was available 24/7.
