Wifi and Airplane mode cant turn off

These issues can be caused due to third-party application conflict, driver corruption or corrupted user account. Let’s try to identify the actual cause and troubleshoot accordingly.

However, before we proceed I would require some more information to assist you better.

Is there any update pending or failed to install? If yes, provide the KB number and error message/code details of that failing update?

For Wi-Fi & Airplane mode issue:

I would like to inform you that in Windows 8.1, the Airplane mode option on the Networks area is designed to quickly turn off devices, then resume them again by turning off the Airplane mode.

If Airplane mode is enabled on your computer and you can't turn it off because the switch is grayed out, check that there's no physical wireless On/Off switch on the device.

If there is a physical wireless switch, and it's set to Off, you won't be able to turn off Airplane mode. Set the wireless switch to On and the option to turn off Airplane mode should be available.

For Windows Media Player issue:

Let us run the Windows Media Player troubleshooters and check if this helps.

1. Press Windows key + X and click on Control Panel.

2. Select small icons under view by category and click on Troubleshooting.

3. Click on View all.

4. Run the troubleshooter for Windows Media Player Library & Windows Media Player Settings one by one and apply the fix to complete. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

If the above troubleshooters don’t help then try to rebuild the Windows Media player library database and check if it helps.

a. Close the Windows Media Player.

b. Press Windows key + R, Run window opens.

c. Type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player in the open box and click OK.

d. Select all the files in the folder. Then right click and select Delete.

Note: You do not have to delete the folders that are in this folder.

e. Restart Windows Media Player.

Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.
