Service Account in Exchange Granted Exchange admin permission

I got a notification from Office 365 Activity Alert: "Elevation of priviledge".

The account name is:  *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and it was granted Exchange admin permission.

This user does not excist in our Tenant and\or Active Directory

My question is:

  • Is this a system account from Microsoft and if so, what is the purpose of this user.
  • If not, I need info on how to delete the account

Hi Runa,

I have checked the SR and our engineer had confirmed "BOXServiceAccount” is a build in account from portal used to add the corresponding user to the RBAC group "View-Only Organization Management".
