sharing violation when trying to save an excel file on file server--Bit Urgent

Hi Experts

I am not able to track down the cause of a sharing violation being reported in the excel file on FILE SERVER.  When someone opens it and makes a change and wants to save those changes, there is an error Your changes could not be saved to  'filename.xlsx' because of a sharing violation. Try saving to a different file and offers the choice of saving under a new file name.
