Error while trying to activate XBox Live Gold membership after buying a 1-year Office 365 Home Premium subscription

Hi all,

I bought the Office 365 subscription online and when trying to activate the XBox Gold membership, the activation page says that it cannot activate since my country (Israel) is not supported - which is WRONG: The promotion's 'terms and conditions' page explicitly notes my country as supported in this promotion...

What can I do? Is it a known issue? Do I have to wait for some time until I can activate my account?

Are you sure your region is set to Israel?  According to www.xbox.com/.../countries, Israel is supported making you correct.

Well now when you say it, I'm doubting myself - how can I make sure what my region is? My settings used to be set on the US, since I own a WP7 device and when I bought it, XBOX Live was still not available for my country, but since then it became available and a few days ago I did successfully changed my region to Israel (maybe this process takes a few days to be set on MS's systems?) through the through the "Change Xbox account region" in my XBox profile settings...

So, is there any other way to verify this?

Sorry to hear you're having issues redeeming your promotion code.


You can double check your account region on account.live.com

There can be some delay in region migration to take full effect. If it's already been a few days since you changed your region, I would recommend contacting your local phone support for further support on that promotion.

I think you can migrate the location of the account . I'm kind of confused on what happened. But you might need to call up support to get them to activate your code.

I bought a gold subscription , activated the password, but my profile has not changed for gold .
