How to Find SSID (Network Name)
  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser.
  3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.11.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
  4. When prompted, enter in "root" for the user name and leave the password blank.
  5. From the menu across the top choose Wireless Config.
  6. From the submenu choose Basic (11n/g/b).
  7. The SSID will be listed on this page.

How To Find Wireless Passphrase (WPA/WEP)

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser.
  3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.11.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
  4. When prompted, enter in "root" for the user name and leave the password blank.
  5. From the menu across the top choose Wireless Config.
  6. From the submenu choose Basic (11n/g/b).
  7. *Note that the password can not be verified on this device, only changed*
  8. Change the password under WPA-PSK (Pre-Shared Key).
  9. Select Apply.

Changing Wireless Security Type/ Disabling Wireless Security

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser.
  3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.11.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
  4. When prompted, enter in "root" for the user name and leave the password blank.
  5. From the menu across the top choose Wireless Config.
  6. From the submenu choose Basic (11n/g/b).
  7. To change or disable the Wireless Security, select the desired Security Mode from the Wireless Authentication dropdown (No Authentication, WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, or WPA/WPA2 mixedmode - PSK).
  8. If No Authentication is selected, the options for Encryption will be No Encryption (which completely disables Wireless Security) or WEP.
  9. If WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, or WPA/WPA2 mixedmode - PSK are selected, the Encryption options are TKIP, AES or TKIP/AES Mixed Mode.  WPA2-PSK with AES is recommended.
  10. Enter the Pre-Shared Key or WEP Key.
  11. If WEP security is selected the password will need to be 10 charecters in length (if 64-bit) or 26 characters in length (if 128-bit) and can only use 0-9 and A-F.
  12. If WPA or WPA2 was selected the password can be between 8-63 characters, is case sensative and can use any character on your keyboard.
  13. Once the passphrase has been entered select Apply at the bottom of the page.

MAC Filtering

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser.
  3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.11.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
  4. When prompted, enter in "root" for the user name and leave the password blank.
  5. From the menu across the top choose Wireless Config.
  6. From the submenu choose MAC Filter.
  7. Uncheck the box for "Enforce MAC Filtering".
  8. Select Apply.

Change Wireless Channel

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser.
  3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.11.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
  4. When prompted, enter in "root" for the user name and leave the password blank.
  5. Select Wireless Config from the menu at the top.
  6. Select Basic(11n/g/b) from the submenu.
  7. From the drop-down menu labeled Channel select the desired channel. (Channels 1,3,9,11)
  8. Click Apply.

Change Wireless Mode

The Wireless Mode can not be changed on this device.

DHCP Reservation

  1. Open a web browser.
  2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway into the address bar of the internet browser. Example 192.168.11.1
  3. When prompted, enter in "root" for the user name and leave the password blank.
  4. From the menu across the top select Internet/LAN.
  5. From the submenu choose DHCP Lease.
  6. Under the section titled "Current DHCP Client Information" find the IP Address of the Xbox.
  7. Select the "Manual Assignment" button next to the Xbox.

UPnP

  1. Open a web browser.
  2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.11.1) into the address bar of an internet browser.
  3. When prompted, enter in "root" for the user name and leave the password blank.
  4. Select LAN Config from the menu across the top.
  5. Select UPnP from the submenu.
  6. Toggle UPnP.
  7. Select Apply.

DMZ

  1. Open a web browser.
  2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.11.1) into the address bar of an internet browser.
  3. When prompted, enter in "root" for the user name and leave the password blank.
  4. Select LAN Config from the menu across the top.
  5. Select DMZ from the submenu.
  6. Enter the IP Address of the Xbox.
  7. Select Apply.

Disable DMZ

  1. Open a web browser.
  2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.11.1) into the address bar of an internet browser.
  3. When prompted, enter in "root" for the user name and leave the password blank.
  4. Select LAN Config from the menu across the top.
  5. Select DMZ from the submenu.
  6. Erase the IP Address in the box.
  7. Select Apply.

Port Forwarding

  1. Open a web browser.
  2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway(192.168.11.1) into the address bar of an internet browser.
  3. When prompted, enter in "root" for the user name and leave the password blank.
  4. Select LAN Config from the menu across the top.
  5. Select Port Forwarding from the submenu.
  6. Enter Xbox1 for the Group Name
  7. Select TCP/UDP and then TCP Port Manual Setup for the Protocol.
  8. Enter 3074 for the Port Number
  9. Enter the IP Address of the Xbox for the LAN Side IP Address.
  10. Enter 3074 for the LAN Side Port.
  11. Click the Add button.
  12. Repeat steps with Xbox2 as the Group Name and UDP Port Manual Setup for the Protocol.

Disable Port Forwarding

  1. Open a web browser.
  2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway(192.168.11.1) into the address bar of an internet browser.
  3. When prompted, enter in "root" for the user name and leave the password blank.
  4. Select LAN Config from the menu across the top.
  5. Select Port Forwarding from the submenu.
  6. In the Port Forwarding Registration Information section, find the row labeled Xbox1.
  7. Select the Delete button.

Firewall

There are no additional Firewall Settings that need to be changed on this device.

How to Find Firmware Version

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser.
  3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.11.1)  into the address bar of the internet browser.
  4. When prompted, enter in "root" for the user name and leave the password blank.
  5. Select Admin Config from the menu across the top.
  6. Select Update from the submenu.
  7. The Firmware Version is listed on this page.

Firmware Update

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser.
  3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.11.1)  into the address bar of the internet browser.
  4. When prompted, enter in "root" for the user name and leave the password blank.
  5. Select Admin Config from the menu across the top.
  6. Select Update from the submenu.
  7. In an alternate web browser or tab go to www.buffalotech.com and download the updated software.
  8. Click Browse.
  9. Locate and select the file you just downloaded and uncompressed.
  10. Click Update Firmware to send the software to the router. This loads the new software in the router and causes the router to restart.  Note: Do not try to go online, turn off the router, shutdown the computer or do anything else to the router until the router finishes restarting! Wait a few more seconds before doing anything.
  11. Click Status at the top and check the Firmware Version to verify that your router now has the new software installed.

Restore Factory Defaults

Through Firmware

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser.
  3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.11.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
  4. When prompted, enter "root" for the user name and leave the password blank.
  5. Select Admin Config from the menu across the top.
  6. Select Initialize/Restart from the submenu.
  7. Click the "Initialize Now" button.

Through Hardware

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Using a toothpick or tip of ballpoint pen press and hold the reset button located on the bottom of the device for 15 seconds or until all the ethernet link lights flash in unison.

Entering PPPoE

  1. Open a web browser.
  2. Log into the router by entering the default gateway (192.168.11.1) into the address bar of the internet browser.
  3. When prompted, enter "root" for the user name and leave the password blank.
  4. Select Internet/LAN from the menu across the top.
  5. Select PPPoE from the submenu.
  6. Enter the PPPoE Username and Password.
  7. Select Apply at the bottom of the page.

Multiple Console Support

We have no confirmed cases where multiple consoles were able to obtain an Open NAT state while using this device. Please comment on this page if you have been able obtain Open NAT on two or more consoles using this device.
