Login Information

  • Gateway - 192.168.1.1
  • Username - admin

How to Find SSID (Network Name)

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser and in the address bar enter 192.168.1.1 and enter admin for both the username and password when prompted.
  3. The SSID is listed at the top of every page.

 

How To Find Wireless Passphrase (WPA/WEP)

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser and in the address bar enter 192.168.1.1 and enter admin for both the username and password when prompted.
  3. Select Wireless from the menu on the left.
  4. Depending on the security type, the password will be listed as WPA Pre-Shared Key or WEP Key1-4.

 

Changing Wireless Security Type/ Disabling Wireless Security

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser and in the address bar enter 192.168.1.1 and enter admin for both the username and password when prompted.
  3. Select Wireless from the menu on the left.
  4. Select General from the tabs at the top.
  5. To change/disable the wireless security from the Authentication Method drop down select the desired security type (Open System, WPA-Personal, WPA2-Personal or WPA-Auto-Personal).
  6. If Open System is selected, choose the WEP Encryption (None, 64-bit or 128-bit).
  7. If WPA is selected, choose the WPA Encryption (TKIP, AES, TKIP+AES).
  8. Enter the WPA Pre-Shared Key or WEP Key.
  9. If WEP security is selected the password will need to be 10 characters in length (if 64-bit) or 26 characters in length (if 128-bit) and can only use 0-9 and A-F.
  10. If WPA or WPA2 was selected the password can be between 8-63 characters, is case sensitive and can use any character on your keyboard.
  11. Once the passphrase has been entered click Apply.

 

MAC Filtering

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser and in the address bar enter 192.168.1.1 and enter admin for both the username and password when prompted.
  3. Select Wireless from the menu on the left.
  4. Select Wireless MAC Filter from the tabs at the top.
  5. Change MAC Filter Mode to Disabled.
  6. Click Apply.

 

Change Wireless Channel

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser and in the address bar enter 192.168.1.1 and enter admin for both the username and password when prompted.
  3. Select Wireless from the menu on the left.
  4. Select General from the tabs at the top.
  5. From the drop down menu labeled Channel select the desired channel. (Channels 1,3,9,11)
  6. Click Apply.

 

Change Wireless Mode

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser and in the address bar enter 192.168.1.1 and enter admin for both the username and password when prompted.
  3. Select Wireless from the menu on the left.
  4. Select General from the tabs at the top.
  5. From the dropdown menu labeled Wireless Mode select g only.
  6. Click Apply.

 

Change Wireless Band (Width)

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser and in the address bar enter 192.168.1.1 and enter admin for both the username and password when prompted.
  3. Select Wireless from the menu on the left.
  4. There will a drop down box labeled Channel Bandwidth, in that box section 20MHZ.
  5. Click Apply at the bottom.

DHCP Reservation

  1. Open a web browser and in the address bar enter 192.168.1.1 and enter admin for both the username and password when prompted.
  2. Select LAN from the menu on the left.
  3. Select DHCP Server from the tabs at the top.
  4. Select Yes for "Enable Manual Assignment".
  5. Enter the MAC Address and IP Address of the Xbox.
  6. Click Add.
  7. Click Apply.

 

UPnP

  1. Open a web browser and in the address bar enter 192.168.1.1 and enter admin for both the username and password when prompted.
  2. Select WAN from the menu on the left.
  3. Select internet Connection from the tabs at the top.
  4. Select Yes or No for Enable UPnP.
  5. Click Apply.

 

DMZ

  1. Open a web browser and in the address bar enter 192.168.1.1 and enter admin for both the username and password when prompted.
  2. Select WAN from the menu on the left.
  3. Select DMZ from the tabs at the top.
  4. Enter the IP Address of the Xbox.
  5. Click Apply.

 

Disable DMZ

  1. Open a web browser and in the address bar enter 192.168.1.1 and enter admin for both the username and password when prompted.
  2. Select WAN from the menu on the left.
  3. Select DMZ from the tabs at the top.
  4. Clear the IP Address out of the box.
  5. Click Apply.

 

Port Forwarding

  1. Open a web browser and in the address bar enter 192.168.1.1 and enter admin for both the username and password when prompted.
  2. Select WAN from the menu on the left.
  3. Select Virtual Server from the tabs at the top.
  4. Select Yes for "Enable Virtual Server".
  5. Enter Xbox360 for the Service Name.
  6. Enter 3074 for the Port Range and Local Port.
  7. Select the Xbox from the Local IP dropdown.
  8. Select Both for the Protocol.
  9. Click Add.
  10. Click Apply.

 

Disable Port Forwarding

  1. Open a web browser and in the address bar enter 192.168.1.1 and enter admin for both the username and password when prompted.
  2. Select WAN from the menu on the left.
  3. Select Virtual Server from the tabs at the top.
  4. Select the line with Xbox360.
  5. Click Delete.
  6. Click Apply.

 

Firewall

  1. Open a web browser and in the address bar enter 192.168.1.1 and enter admin for both the username and password when prompted.
  2. Select Firewall from the menu on the left.
  3. Select General from the tabs at the top.
  4. Select No next to Enable Firewall.
  5. Click Apply.

 

How to Find Firmware Version

  1. Open a web browser and in the address bar enter 192.168.1.1 and enter admin for both the username and password when prompted.
  2. The Firmware Version is listed at the top of every page.

 

Firmware Update

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser and in the address bar enter 192.168.1.1 and enter admin for both the username and password when prompted.
  3. Select Administration from the menu on the left.
  4. Select Firmware Upgrade from the tabs at the top.
  5. Open a new tab on your web browser.
  6. http://support.asus.com
  7. Select the model number of your router.
  8. Select the hardware revision of your router and download the latest firmware. 
  9. Save the file to somewhere that is easy to locate, such as the desktop.
  10. Tab back to your the routers firmware page.
  11. In the Firmware Upgrade section select browse.
  12. Select the file you just downloaded.
  13. Click the Upload button and let the software install without interruption.

 

Restore Factory Defaults

Through firmware

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser and in the address bar enter 192.168.1.1 and enter admin for both the username and password when prompted.
  3. Select Administration from the menu on the left.
  4. Select Restore/Save/Upload Setting from the tabs at the top.
  5. Click the Restore button next to Factory Default.

Through Hardware

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Locate the reset button on the device.
  3. With paperclip/pen/toothpick hold down the reset button down for 30 seconds.

 

Entering PPPoE

  1. Open a web browser and in the address bar enter 192.168.1.1 and enter admin for both the username and password when prompted.
  2. Select WAN from the menu on the left.
  3. Select Internet Connection from the tabs at the top.
  4. Select PPPoE for the WAN Connection Type.
  5. Enter the PPPoE Username and Password under Account Setting.
  6. Click Apply.

 

Multiple Console Support

We have confirmed that this network device is unable to support more than one console with an Open NAT.
