How to find SSID (Network Name)

Zyxel P-660 Series (Light Firmware)

*Note* Models with 4 ethernet ports will have an "H" (hub) designation in their model number.

*Note* Models with wireless capabilities will have a "W" or an "N" (wireless) designation in their model number.


How to find SSID, Network Name (Only on devices with the "W" or an "N" designation)

  1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
  2. Open a web browser.
  3. Log into the router by entering the default gateway, 192.168.1.1 into the address bar of the internet browser. 
  4. The router will then prompt you to enter the username and password. There is no username and the default password is 1234.
  5. Click Wireless LAN from the menu on the left.
  6. Click Wireless from the main panel to open the Wireless screen.
  7. The SSID (Network Name) will be found on this page after ESSID. The network name can be changed by typing the new name in this box.
  8. Click the Apply button if any changes were made.

Login Information

Gateway - 192.168.1.1

Username - N/A

Password - 1234


How to find SSID (Network Name)

  5. Expand the Network menu.
  6. From within Network select Wireless LAN.
  7. The Network Name (SSID) will be displayed in the first box near the top of the menu.
  8. If you wish to change it type your new name in the box.
  9. Click the Apply button on the bottom of the page.
