XBOX/Fortnite account transfer and set up

Hi Trying to sort out Fortnite for my son.

He currently logs in to XBOX using his mother's email and password.

His Fortnite account is linked to this xbox account.

I need to link his fortnite account to the child account I have set up under family on my account.

1. How do I associate his fortnite account to the child account?

2. Does he need his own xbox/microsoft account to be able to play fortnite on an xbox

3. How do I set this up so the accounts are linked and he can log into xbox without needing his mother's account details?

You can't transfer anything from one account to another.

Digital purchases cannot be transferred from one account to another.  You can change the email address associated with an account though.  

Change your Microsoft account email address

You are going to add an email to the account and make sure it works.  You can then change that email to the primary email and again make sure everything is working.  At that point you can remove what was the primary email.

If the console is set as the home console for his mother then he can continue to play fortnite.  If an account is created for him he can play fortnite but would lose access to any DLC purchased under his mothers account.

It is best to have the child playing under their own account.  If that means going thru the pain of them starting over at something do it as early as you can.
