I am also having the same problem.  TV works but cable doesnt.  It also recognizes what im saying but doesnt change the channel.  I have manually and automatically connected to the cable box and both havent worked.  I have turned my kinect around to face the cable box.  There is a direct path for the IR.  Still nothing.  Im in the same boat as Omay1990 and need help.

If you are using Dish or DirectTV, see Studbucket33's answer forums.xbox.com/.../1627761.aspx. It solved this for me

I'm have surewest cable which uses a Motorola box. I have tired both as my cable device and both haven't worked.  The OneGuide properly shows the channels.  However I can only change channels through my cable boxes' controller.  Not through the xbox one.

The IR code for the Motorola VIP 1200 STB is 0476.  But there is no option in my menu to turn on or off the IR.

Can you both let us know the specific model number of your set-top box (looks like subydude420's is a Motorola VIP1200, is that the same as yours, Omay1990?), and what shows up under "Cable or satellite box model:" in your Settings (TV & OneGuide -> Devices)?

It says Motorola VIP1200 when I enter it manually.  If I choose automatic it says "Motorola (remote code c2378)"

If I choose surewest as my cable box it won't recognize if I "enter it"  as vip1200.  If I choose automatic it says "surewest (remote code c2586)"

I called surewest my provider and they insured me their system uses IR and not RF... It connects to my tv so I know the kinect works and it's sending the IR signal to the cable box.  Is it a compatibility issue with the VIP1200 maybe?
