So, I navigated to Games & Apps, then Apps. I highlighted the Xbox One Preview Registration icon, then pressed the Options button on the controller. From the menu that popped up, I selected "Manage app," which opened the original app installation dialog.
I clicked on "Install" and the update completed to 100%.
After that, I clicked on theXbox One Preview Registration, registered as before and all appeared to be back in business.
