Xbox One doesn't receve local channels

My family has a huge antenna tower on our property about three stories tall that gets us a lot of local television in glorious HD. Unfortunately, I can't get it to work through our new Xbox One. I have the coaxial cable coming out of the wall/antenna into the TV, then an HDMI cable going from the TV to the Xbox. We do not have cable or satellite.

Any time I got to the Xbox's TV app, all I get is a message saying it can take up to 12 seconds and a black screen. No picture. No sound. And I've waited over 5 minutes. Nothing.

Microsoft has stated that the Xbox One should be the only entertainment device I need, so I must be doing something wrong.

My television set is a Samsung UN50F6400AFX. Please help.

You need a set top box for it to work. The xbox needs something to send the tv signal to it through the HDMI. You can get the Homeworx HW150PVR and use that, its on amazon for $35 to $45. Hope that helps you.
