XBox One - Blu Ray 3D

Has there been any official report on when 3D Blu Ray will be supported or even if it will be? I know it's not widely used but some of us have 3D TV's.

Hi there it is not known yet if MS will add this feature to the X1. So far there is just the report that it will not support 3D at launch reviews.cnet.com/.../xbox-one-wont-play-3d-blu-rays-for-now Perhaps in the future they will add it but as of now the X1 cannot playback 3D blue ray movies.

I'm wanting this to happen as well. Microsoft claimed, early on, that the system would have 3D support, but there's obviously nothing been done in the software to support it and there doesn't appear to be a setting for 3DTV's like on the 360.

At the moment it can't even support non-3d bluray without lip sync problems.. Hopefully they will be reworking this app much more thoroughly.

While I certainly want it, you have to look at the big picture.  How many people really use 3D? Of those, how many use it with an regularity?  Is it really worth development resources to include something that most people will use a handufl of times?

As I said, I certainly want the feature, I even went out and bought a 3D blu ray specifically for it.  So I am quite disappointed, but all I want to hear is that it's in the works.  It's not surprising to me that it didn't get priority.

Hey Guys,

As you already know, Xbox One will not support 3D play back at launch. I am unable to speculate as to when or if it will be available on a later date but the best thing to do is follow Major Nelson on twitter or on new.xbox.com

Hope this helps.

People must buy it or they wouldn't release them.

Its just not BluRay 3D not being supported, it wont let 3D pass thru it either, so my Direct TV 3D channels won't work. I am so disappointed in this. I know MS you don't make TV's or BluRay drives but if your going to call your system the "ONE" it needs to actually support everything.  You may not be a fan of 3D, but it exists and allot of people including me, family and friends love it.  So for now, a 3D BluRay player is still in the entertainment center.

Come on MS, lets get this "X1" doing whats its intended to do to live up to its name, cause right now its not the "One" but rather the "Two".
