Xbox live disconnects randomly.

I've just moved house and started using a wireless adapter for the first time, for the last week or so I've been trying to play black ops / mw2 now I'll be in a party while I'm playing, after about 5-10mins I'll get disconnected from the game but will still stay within the party and am still able to have a conversation without any lag or delays. I've done a speed test and my line is currently 8mbps download and 0.98 upload and I've just checked my signal strength out of game and its four bars - however in game it was one or two.

We changed the channels on the router from auto to like 8 or 9 but it was still happening - I'm unsure of what it could be. I would go down the ethernet route but thats kind of a last resort option due to the routers position (my housemate's pc doesn't have a wireless card so he wants the router in his room.

My setup:

O2 Router (In a housemates room opposite mine so can't be distance surely? - Also it's on his desk so not blocked or anything)

Network type: Infrastructure (Channel 9)

Wireless Security: WPA2
