Xbox drive issue - games are dvd's (not the normal issue)

Hey guys - This isn't the normal "oh noes my drive is going bad" issue

I fix xboxes and I got one in w/o an xbox drive that had a rrod issue - i reflowed it and it's working

So - i stuck in a working drive (liteon) and it's not wanting to read my games properly.  I tried another liteon drive that is also working from my personal xbox and the same issue.

I don't have the original drive or hard drive - the xbox came w/ just the metal holder, board, fan, frontside button chip (no case)

Where should I go from here?

Thanks

If you are going to fix consoles then you should know that you just can't swap drives. Plus even if you are successful swapping drives that will likely lead to a console ban for the person.

@ Obsessive Power - so what you're saying is that Microsoft is not allowing users to fix Microsoft's faulty hardware easily w/o sending it into Microsoft or having a flash package, right?  I just want to make it 100% clear that is exactly what you said

@ voteDC - i've never had to replace a drive, usually if a laser goes bad, i just order another one - they're cheap

Obsessive Power is 1000% correct. The only people allowed to repair the 360 are Microsoft. If people chose to try and repair it themselves or go through a third party like yourself, then a console ban is on the cards.

My information about the drives comes from stuff posted here and seems to be about the whole unit. Replacing just a lens I have no idea.
