Xbox 360 SmartGlass Issue

So after looking through the forums and google for several hours I feel all thats left to do is post. I cannot connect to my Xbox 360 using SmartGlass on my Windows Tablet. The app is installed properly and I am signed in with no issues, it just cannot find my Xbox, here's what I've tried so far :

- make sure Xbox is on and I'm signed in with the same account on both Xbox and Tablet

- checked my Xbox is allowing connected devices under settings

- restarted  my Xbox, Tablet and Router

- reset the connection on my Xbox and Tablet (delete settings and reconnect)

- run the Windows app trouble shooter (no problems found by the way)

- removed and reinstalled the Xbox 360 SmartGlass app

- made sure Xbox SmartGlass wasn't blocked by a firewall

I can't think what else to do. Info on my Tablet just in case, it's a Cello (Model: M8077) running Windows 8.1. I'm aware this is the Windows Phone support forum and if this isn't the correct place to post I would greatly appreciate being pointed the right way. Thank you in advance.
