XBOX 360 KEEPS RESTARTING

Everytime I turn on the XBOX it says "a system update is available from XBOX Live. If you decline you won't be able to connect to XBOX Live until you take the update". I press yes to update and it goes to update processing and immediately the system restarts. When I decline the update it says "some XBOX 360 features are missing or corrupt. A system update is required to replace them. Your console will now restart". Someone please help..I've tried using a USB update and the system does not even acknowledge the flash drive.

When you do the update it is supposed to restart to finish it.  That is part of the update process. We need more info.  After it restarts on the update, what is happening? Do you let it finish?

The process starts and immediately restarts. The loading graph line doesn't even get a chance to move

Updates can take up to 30 minutes or more to do depending on the size.  During this time the graph line can sometimes seem as though it is not moving.

Are you getting any type of error code before you restart?  If not, just let it sit and do its job for a bit.
