Xbox 360 discs do not launch on my Xbox One.

I'm trying to play Halo Wars on my Xbox One, however the system does not even acknowledge that it's been inserted. I put the disc in, the console makes a few noises, then nothing. Nothing appears on my dashboard, my download queue or list of games anywhere. It seems like as far as the console is concerned, there isn't anything in the disc tray.

I've tried hard resetting my console, unplugging it, disconnecting it from the internet and every thing that I've found on the internet. Nothing works. All my Xbox One games run perfectly, as do my blu ray movies.

This happened when I tried to use my Halo Reach disc a few months back, I assumed that my disc was damaged and bought a digital copy. But now Halo Wars isn't reading either and I know for a fact that it's not damaged. I'm very frustrated.

Sounds like a hardware issue with the disc drive. Since Xbox 360 games are on DVD does a regular movie DVD work on your console? If not I would suspect fault with the laser on the disc drive.

Did this solve your problem?
