WIRED 360 CONTROLLER FOR PC

Hi,

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the correct area but hopefully someone can help.

I have been using the wireless 360 controller for my PC for a few years without any real problems.

However, I heard that a 360 WIRED controller is just a plug and play with Windows7 64bit - so I bought one to try it out.  However my PC doesn't seem to recognise it at all.  I have plugged it in to a USB port and the green lights on the controller just keep flashing.

I have also downloaded drivers from the MS website and reinstalled quite a few times.

Nothing.........does anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks for any help.

What game in particular are you having trouble using with the wired XBOX 360 controller, and have you tried multiple games. Did you make sure to unplug the wireless receiver in the back of the computer before you try to use the wired controller? Bad idea having both plugged in at the same time.

Which USB port did you plug it into?  Have you tried removing the Wireless Gaming Receiver and plugging your wired pad into the same USB port?

I've plugged it in to the front and back USB panel.

The PC just isn't recognising that anything is plugged in :(

The lights just flash on and off when I plug the wired controller in and.........nothing.

Obviously doesn't work on any game because I would get as much action from sticking a finger of fudge in the USB port.

Got it working YES!! :D

Must have been some sort of conflict with motionjoy or some other drivers that I had on the PC.  Deleted a few of them, restarted and when I plugged it in it automatically recognised the controller and installed the drivers.

No flashing lights, just the usual one for controller 1.

Happy days.  Thanks again for all the replies, I appreciate your help.
