Why did I get charged for gold 3 months and have no gold now?

I recently got charged for 3 months gold but I already got charged last month for 3 month gold membership, im not sure if it's automatic renew but I never got asked only charged for it but now xbox.com and xbox live say I have silver membership when I should have another 5 months gold?! can someone please help me
