why cant i play my arcade games?

okay here is my problem i am house sitting for some friends and i cant play any of my arcade games. they don't have Internet so i cant connect to live. i have read that you cant play offline if you are trying to play the game that was transfer to a different xbox. I want to know why they did that and if there was a way to transfer the license or whatever to my new xbox so i can play castle crashers offline? the thing that sucks most is that i am getting ready to sell my first xbox that has the castle crashers that i bought originally on and i really want to just transfer everything correctly. so please if you know how to do that let me know.

You can do a license transfer from here - http://xbox.com/drm

But your console has to be connected to Live in order to do it.
