What Games do you Hate of your Favorite Genre?

What are some of your favorite genres you enjoy... and pretty much every game of that type you tend to gravitate toward... ?? --But yet, there is always that one game or series you hate. I was wondering what everyone's favorite game genres were and their biggest gripes of their least favorite franchises of the respected genres.

For me, one of my favorite genres is the sandbox style action/adventure genre. I tend to eat up every sandbox game out there. But coincidently, I very much dislike the GTA series. Rockstar has pigeon-holed that series and never bothered to upgrade the lousy freeroam. Game after game. With the exception of LA Noire, all of their sandbox games are remarkably similar, with the GTA series being the most boring and dull... hookers aside. (imo).

I've always liked GTA, although 4 was kind of a letdown.

Mine is Mercenaries 2. Good god, after playing Just Cause 2, trying to get into Mercenaries 2 was impossible...that guy does VERY little better than the immensely superior JC2.

I love Borderlands :),at one time i did try to get into the Halo series. But just found it to impossible to get into,i guess there are some games that are not for everybody.

I don't hate any game. Hate's too strong a word for something as simple as a videogame.

have to go with freeroaming games (like gta RDR and saints row) i absolutely love the older GTAs Saints row and i tolerate RDR but i absolutely hate GTA4 i think it has the most disgusting driving in any game i have ever played otherwise its a fantastic game but the driving ruined it for me :/

Interesting topic. Thanks for posting OP. I don't hate games, but I have been unimpressed by games.

I really like RPGs, but I wasn't impressed with ME2. Sad, I know. Because I use to be a huge Bioware fan.

I also like FPS games. I wasn't impressed with COD:WaW. Meh.

I hate games like Ninja Gayden.

My favorite genres are RPG & racing.

I can't say I hate any RPGs, although I cannot stand Mass Effect 2. However, I don't consider ME2 to even be an RPG, so I can't really count it. I love everything about the Elder Scroll series, but the fighting is a big weakness for me, so I don't really play them all that much. I do love both western & Japanese style RPGs, so that's not a factor. My all-time favorite RPGs are the original KotOR, FFVII, Dragon Age Origins (not DA2) & Skies of Arcadia. Pretty much all the RPGs that I've bought, I've at least liked somewhat. I can't immediately think of one that I would say I hate.

As for racing games, I really can't stand any of the gimmicky style ones, like Burnout or the more "realistic" weapon based racers. I do like the colorful ones like Mario Kart & Crash Team Racing though. I'm also not a fan of Midnight Club or the NFS series after Most Wanted (I loved it up until and including MW). Basically, when it comes to racers, I like simulators the most. My all-time favorites are any Gran Turismo installment, Forza 3 (with all assists off), Sega GT, PGR4, NFS Underground 2 and Most Wanted.

[/quote]basically this. If i don't like a game or a dev i don't buy or  rent their games . Some gamers dislike a dev and still buy/rent  their games to continue bashing it  ...i wonder if is masochism.

Seems a lot of you have some genre confusion... or like to make a big deal out of the word "hate". Too strong a word? Lord forbid anyone have any passion of their hobbies.
