updating xbox live gold

when I enter my credit card it says that the xbox service is not working but im connected to xbox live. im just trying to update my gold because the time ran out

Please try to visit your Microsoft Commerce & Billing page here and take a look at the payment methods listed there. If you see an error or perhaps an expired/invalid card, please replace that payment method with another and you should then be able to pay for Xbox LIVE Gold.

Are you trying to make a gold subscription purchase and then being charged although you are not grated gold access? Can you confirm if the purchase went through at commerce.microsoft.com? Have you tried redownloading your profile to see if that is able to help the account shift to gold if it was charged? Let us know. Thanks!
