Unable to re-download music from Music Pass to SD Card

I have XBOX Music Pass on my Lumia 822. I downloaded some music from Music Pass onto my Micro SD Card. This card became corrupted and had to be replaced. When the card was replaced, I attempted to replace the music but it says 'In Collection.' Anyway around this so I can re-download songs back onto my new Micro SD Card?

Sorry, must have missed the model being named. It usually is just a problem you might see for SD card users, not someone who doesn't use an SD card. The hidden files and folders is still something that would be worth trying since I know the content in there is stored oddly. It doesn't delete it when you hard reset the phone.

The Lumia 920 supports removable SD??? Don't think so.

Hi RetroCorn,

When you search for the music, does it appear that it want's you to purchase it again?  Are you able to access this album on a Windows 8 device or an Xbox 360? Are you using the same account that purchased the album. Let us know. We are here for ya.

Hey there Retrocorn,

  • Were you able to give the steps Mister Ohnaka suggested a try?

  • How did they work for you?

This is a weird thing with the Windows Phone 8's that have SD cards. You'll see it happen just by swapping out SD cards. The OS isn't smart enough to realize the device that held the tracks is gone. The Windows Phone OS wasn't developed to actually support SD cards - it was something the manufactures added separately.

If the SD card isn't corrupt  for you, you could put the old one in, delete the tracks, than swap SD cards. Otherwise, you might try using a Windows PC for the file explorer, opening up the phone's drive, go to the Music folder, turn on hidden files and folders, and delete the cached content in the songs or albums folders. If you're not comfortable deleting that (or just to be safe) you might want to back those folders up to your PC before deleting them.

Hey Nutz. When you are looking at the album in the Store, go ahead and tap the ellipses on the bottom right (three dots) and see if it gives you a "Checklist" option. If it does, use that to select the songs, and then download them. Also, try tapping and holding on a song, and see if it gives you the option to download. Let us know how that goes. Thanks.

I did both, yes. I should also add that I have a Lumia 920, not an 822. Unfortunately neither worked.

Bit of an old thread to bump, but I have a similar issue. I purchased the album "Make It Bun Dem" by Skrillex a good while ago. My music on my phone got messed up and I had to restore my phone. Now I can't redownload the album and there is no option to redownload it, yet it says the album/song is in my collection.

Is there another way to download the song to my phone again?
