Unable to purchase Dark Souls II with Xbox Live money.

I just redeemed over $65 of Xbox Live cash and I tried buying Dark Souls II but it only gave me the option of paying with credit card. I'm upset. I bought over $65 of Xbox Live money and I can't even get the game.

Hey jonnyvue! When you go to buy the game from the Xbox 360 does it give you the option to change to your Microsoft credit? It should work from the Marketplace on the console but it may not on the website.

No it doesn't. The option is completely grayed out. I have over 68.00 in my Microsoft account which should be more than enough to cover the tax costs too.

This really sucks. I asked the Microsoft Support team 3 times about this issue and I still haven't received a straight answer.

Is everything up to date and correct according to billing.microsoft.com? If not, it won't let you purchase anything, even with Microsoft Credit.

What do you mean by that?

Everything should be correct. All my securities and information are updated.

I'm able to buy the game with PayPal and Credit.. it's just that it won't let me use the gamecard cash... it's such a waste of money on the gamecards now... I'm upset.. uggh..

Hmm. Try adding a new payment option, if you have one, and see if that triggers it. Or, if you don't have another, remove it and re add it.

Tried that already. I added my debit card. And Xbox Live allowed me to purchase with that. The gamecard money was still grayed out.

I've asked Xbox Support about this issue and all they keep telling me is that certain games can't be bought by "local currency" because of "region" issues or something. It makes no sense. How is USA region blocked? It should be a high priority region because of consumer demand. And "local currency"? Heck the gamecard money is literally converted to virtual money now, how the heck is it local now?

So many questions unanswered and it frustrates me.

No, the phone team is always unavailable when I need them. I work from 8 am to 5 pm everyday so I can't call them on normal working hours.

And I don't have a Twitter, but I'd doubt the Twitter team can be of any difference than the Live Support team.

I have the same problem. Is there any chances that i will be able to buy a game for my account money ? Because bought a $50 gift card and i wanted to buy Payback 2 and maybe some add-ons but now i have that money in my account and i can't use them.

Are you having the same problem where the option is grayed out? Because it's pretty annoying.. Spending on a gamecard that has no value.. and then you can't refund it and it has no use..
