unable to join session on MW3

When I try to join my friend's game it keeps telling me that I'm unable to join the session. What can I do about this?

whagi is right about what you should do you should also check to see what yours and your friends nat type in the game is

the problem is when I try to fill in my default gateway in the internet adress balk it gives an error

hello their fellow xbox gamer i first had this same issue until i changed on my router my DMZ (DeMilitarized Zone) host to the same as the ip address on the xbox which opened all communication and every port for the ip address for the xbox hope this helps :)

Yes, I called my internet provider and they told me to do the same thing. Thanks man ;D
