lol. you mad brah? a 12GA slug would F**k some serious s#!t up IRL. it can travel through a car, easily. unless you're far enough away, wearing a level 3 body armor vest and have heavy trauma plates, yeah, it's gonna stop you in your tracks.
and the beta didn't have anywheres near retail settings so there isn't drop or lead yet.
I know what a slug can do, it's absurd. But why allow people to turn it into a sniper rifle that's a monster in CQ too? I mean c'mon. It's bad enough you can use iron sights on the SV-98, now this? :-/
because a slug takes more precision in aiming than buckshot and because you may think it's ridiculous, but you're actually well within 50M(or 1/5th of a slug's IRL range) or your target at all times within the beta map. and it's a realistic attachment. a
slug gun uses a fully rifled barrel and either a iron sights or a scope. yes, you can scope a shotgun IRL, and Yes, it does help out.
i hear it's actually recommended for hunting turkeys from a stand.
just the way the barrel is set up, i can tell that it's a slug barrel...it's longer than 20" and has the sights for the job, when using buckshot though it appears the same yet must be different...
it's not OP in any way. and consider that the full game has drop and lead in. that balances it. sniper shotguns took skill in BC2. not everyone was good at it.
I've personally put 2 inch shot groups together at 100 meters with an Ithaca Deerslayer (has a rifled barrel) fitted with a scope and firing Hornady SST slugs. I also have a buddy that took a buck at 250 meters with the same exact weapon.
