Two questions: please be nice! :D

Do the achievements behave like they did in ME2?  Like, for instance: Overload Specialist- Overload the shields of 100 enemies, Sky High- Lift 100 enemies off the ground with powers, and Combined Arms- Perform any combination of 50 biotic combos or tech bursts.  Are you able to obtain these achievements by commanding your squad to perform these or is it like ME1 where we have to perform these powers with our Shepard?

.

And question 2 is a spoiler: I've read so many different forums, many different videos about it on youtube and their descriptions, and I even read "Jarret Lee's" post on the BSN, and he even re-edited his original post concerning the ending.  Every one contradicts the other.. so i have no clue!  So here's my question- I'm not that great at this game (gameplay-wise) and i would only get others in multiplayer mad at me because i suck and i'd have to be revived every 30 seconds!

.

**SPOILER**

.

If i do EVERY possible mission and N7 missions in singleplayer only, will i be able to get the little scene where Shepard takes a breath in the rubble, AND will i get the scene where Jeff (Joker) and two other squadmates emerge from the crashed Normandy?  Just a simple yes or no would suffice!

You can get the achievements by using the powers of others, at least that is how it works in the PC version and I can't see them changing it for the consoles.

As to the other question I'm less sure. The general consensus is that you can't get a EMS high enough to see every aspect of the endings without playing the Horde mode or using the Infiltrator iPhone app because there aren't enough War Assets in the game.

If you can gather at least 4000 points, you can see the ending that you're looking for.  Gathering 4000 points is possible playing single-player only.

The answer to question 1 is Yes. You can use squad powers to get the achievement, in fact you pretty much have to use your squad powers to get 'Combined Arms.'

The answer to question 2 is No. You cannot get that ending without doing something to raise your readiness rating. To explain simply, you will gather an army as you play the game and you will get a Military Strength rating. You will also have an 'Effective Military Strength' rating which is effected by your Readiness Rating. The default Readiness Rating is 50% meaning you get 50% of your Military Strength toward your Effective Military Strength. So if you have a Military Strength of 6000, your EMS is 3000. You need 4000+ EMS to get the ending you want, and you cannot get it with a 50% Readiness Rating even if you do everything in the game.

You can raise Readiness by either playing in Multiplayer, or though one or more IOS Apps (iPhone, iPad, iPod) like the Mass Effect Data Pad or Mass Effect Infiltrator. I played a little multiplayer but it's not really my thing. I personally used the Mass Effect Data Pad and it was pretty easy to get my Readiness Rating up to 100%.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to post.

You can also get those achievements by playing the multiplayer, makes it incredibly easy.
Yes sir thats the way I got my biotic achievement last night, I been playing soldier all the time on this game..

Thank you everyone for your input!  Much appreciated!

.

But you see, this is exactly what i mean.

.

Adrian J 1981 says, YES, I CAN get the ending with Shepard taking a breath by playing singleplayer campaign ONLY....

.

And DarthLlama says NO, I CANNOT get the ending with Shepard taking a breath unless i play multiplayer too.

.

ohh well...  :)
I don't think so.  That means you would need 8,000 War Assets.  I don't even think there are that many by just playing Mass Effect 3 alone.

Did a "perfect" play through. Removing the small amount of war assets I have from multiplayer and the iOS game, there's about 7000 War Assets that you can get. Not sure if there's a way to get more than that to 8000.

I don;'t see how 8000 Military Strength is possible in one playthrough

I got overload specialist, Sky High and combined arms in MP.

I had 7008 war assets.  Did all the side misssions.  But no Shepard lives ending for me.  You have to get readiness up.
