TV Brand & Model not shown

I have a 2yr old RCA 3D LCD TV, model RLC4299A. I tried to set up my XB1 Live TV, and RCA is not in the drop down list, so I type it in manually, and then input my model and surprise surprise, it's not in the drop down list. How is this possible Xbox? RCA is one of the biggest TV manufacturers in the world. I can't even use the voice commands for mute etc., due to the fact that my model is not shown......any chance up getting a patch or an update for this?

GosRidr,

Yes, RCA is a huge company and they produce a great number of different model TV's. It is very likely they use the same IR code-set as they use in another model number TV (all major TV producers do that, Samsung uses the same IR code-set in a majority of the TVs they produce). Just because the exact model of TV is not listed does not mean the Kinect does not have the correct code-set to match. Try using auto-configuration upon the entry of the TV model instead of the 'Enter it' option. Please give that a shot and post back with your results. Game On!

I started off trying that first, and none of the auto-config codes work......I have scanned through until it stops trying a code.

Do any voice commands work at all? For any feature?

Since nothing at all works, it could be a Kinect placement issue. Lets get something to work... anything. Let's start with voice commands on the TV. Does the TV have the correct code-set? First try the auto-configure, then try the manual make/model. Point the Kinect directly at the TV and say "Xbox Mute" or "Xbox Volume up/down". Let me know what happens from there.

I want you to try this: support.xbox.com/.../troubleshoot-oneguide.

1. Make/Model Cable box

2. TV Provider

3. Layout

What do you mean it is not the Kinect (I don't understand)?

I don't want to you set up a repair for the Xbox, get a repaired or new one, then run into the same issue. That would be terrible, I think I am just missing something in the equipment or layout or something. I'm not sure yet. Thanks for working with me GOSRIDR.

It is not the Kinect, because it works fine with my games etc...

TV: RCA RLC4299A

Sat Box: Bell 9241 HD PVR Reciever

TV Provider: Bell

Layout: Signal-->Reciever-->Xbox1-->TV (HDMI)

Signal-->Reciever-->TV (composite cables, from before Xbox1)

As I said, when setting up the TV to watch on the Xbox it does not recognize my TV, so I cannot set up my One Guide or anything.

It sounds likely the Kinect functions fine, but the IR blasting is not reaching the TV. Let's break this into 2 pieces as I want to see some kind of progress. We can worry about rigging down the line, but getting something to work is the first goal. Make this simple to test: Sat box hdmi Xbox One hdmi TV. Reconfigure settings on the Xbox. If you used auto-detection on the TV, try manual entry of the TV model. Issue 2: If the TV is not able to pick up, it will stop 3 things: 1. Volume up/down 2. Volume mute 3. Xbox On: instant on mode. This will not stop OneGuide from configuration. The Sat box not picking up would cause the lack of OneGuide being set up.

I had seen another poster with your make/model of Sat box. This may be an issue, I'm not sure.

You obviously paid no attention to my post @ the beginning, because I CLEARLY stated that when trying automatically failed, that I tried to put in my TV brand and model manually, AND IT STILL DID NOT WORK!!!!!! TV did dot pick up, and it doesn't even give me the option of setting up my sat box, all I can do is watch TV, controlling everything via remote control.
