These are the only things that interest me, also would be great if they released a texture pack as a surprise

Have downloaded twice, cleared cache but cannot connect single player mode keep getting connection to server was lost message like others have posted.

Maybe they should have taken the extra day to make sure this thing worked before forcing it on us.

mines fine, really like the new wooden planks, and plank slabs

do you need to start a new world for this update to take affect?

If you are playing on a world created after the last major update on December 19 (TU7), then the ONLY things you would not have access to is the Blacksmith chests and beaches.  Blacksmith chests are pretty useless IMO for advanced players--although I know Marwood disagrees.  And beaches don't provide any new resources or anything else of interest (they were in the game originally and were taken out in a subsequent update).  If your world was created before the December 19 update, then you don't have an End Portal and can't access The End.  If your game was created before the October 16 update, then you don't have vines so their new climbing functionality is useless to you.  That pretty much sums it up.

The dispensers dispensing water is broken. You can't turn the water off, or is that how they made it work? It suppose to turn off/suck the water back in instead of spitting the empty bucket out.

For the people who are having trouble with connecting to saved worlds, there is a bug involving silver/free members. 4J studios is aware of this and looking for a solution to the bug. For now you can play offline so you don't get that message, get a gold membership, or play on a different profile with no xbox live.
