Trade in for download

I would much rather just have a copy of my games on my hard disk than the physical media. Is there a trade-in program so I don't have to fiddle with discs anymore?

yes you can trade your games in at gamestop or what ever is available in your region

whatever credit they give you can be put towards a prepaid code you have to buy from them

you won't get much as far as trade in goes more then likely you will have to put in some more cash like 20-30dollars

if you mean straight trade no games on demand are not backups of games they are completely seperate and ms doesn't accept used games

thats what the local gameshops are for

That really is a shame for MSFT then. I was under the assumption that they wanted to get rid of physical media because of the fact that it can be resold (which prevents a new copy from being sold to another).

Not really ms cannot block used game sales legally that is protected by law neither can any company except for mmorpgs which require a serial number

Only Dlc and prepaid codes that are already used can't be resold

Console and media are protected by the first sale doctrine which allows anyone to resell media however digital content or one time use items cannot be transfered

Why would ms care about the used market?

When a game media or movie media is resold the first owner loses access to the disk and content and installed games cannot be played without the disk

They aren't losing money

It's only when you want access to dlc that was included which the 2nd owner would have to buy to have access to

That's what online access codes are for because they are one time use

Only ea has those codes

Anytime you buy a ms game used you can buy the dlc seperately unlike medal of honor series
