Tips.

Who's got some. I need them. Battlefield is one of the few games I don't do very well at, and for that reason, I dislike it (Because it frustrates me a lot), despite knowing it's a quality game. I'm just having some serious issues with squad members being idiots, among other things.

.

For instance. How in the hell can you take a helicopter or tank down? Do you have to be a reasonably high level? It seems like no matter what class I choose, none of them has an effective tool to destroy them with, yet whenever I'm in one, I die almost instantly.

.

After just five matches my W/L is 2-3, my SPM is 250, and my K/D (I know it doesn't matter - especially in Battlefield) is about 1.40. All three of those numbers are probably underwhelming, so what can I do? :(

Your best bet is to find a small group of people that you can play with all the time to get into it - if your starting out, playing with a good squad/people that you can ask questions as you go along is great and watching and learning from them . I think its about finding your groove, the best thing about these games is really you can play it anyway you want. Good luck and have fun :D

Ugh. I do need to find a squad! I have a friend who got the game as well but we haven't played yet. Wish some of my other friends weren't just obsessed with Gears 3 and CoD -_-

You do need a squad. The good thing about this game is you can specialise and be great with a few things or be ok with everything. With a good balanced squad you can let someone else you trust deal with the chopper whilst you continue gaining ground or defending. A good squad also call out enemy positions rather than go for the kills themselves.

What he said^^^^^

TANKS........their armour is weakest at the back especially the rear tracks , always try to sink your rockets into the rear if you hit them right two shots and your done , there is an unlock that comes later in levels a tracer dart gun , ust it too tag a tank (at the back if you can) ami your rocket at the tagged tank (the red square) leave i there for a few seconds till you see a range to target appear , hide behind a wall and fire straight up , your rocket will lock onto the tank , this method works well if you have a few squad menbers who are engineers , if you all fire at once the tank is toast. It can be a problem if the tank has a pesky engineer repairing it all the time.

HELICOPTERS..........scattered about the maps are anti aircraft guns which are pretty adept at taking down attack choppers , however experienced pilots know where they are and stay away from them , practice with your tracer dart gun (the dart travels pretty slow so you have to try and guess where the chopper will be when the dart reaches it) once you have tagged an attack chopper one rocket will bring it down , try to tag them when they are low and slow but again good pilots are very adept at avoiding this by constantly kepping on the move and just out of reach.

obviously engineer is the anti tank/chopper class

But as has been said the best way is to play with a good squad who will help you out with a few ingame tips

good luck :)

It's really frustrating when you're in a squad with random people. You pick your class - or whatever it's called - and you find out everyone's assault or a medic or something.

never knew those forums existed , ill pay a visit :)

my tip is to not worry so much about being good. smell the roses man. you will learn through trial and error. you'll soon realize that to be good in this game, you have to use your head as much as your reflexes.

Don't be a loner! Even if you do not know anyone that plays, get into a squad anyway and try to stick near them, they can heal you, give you ammo and vice versa.

If you are going to snipe, then treat it like a sniper rifle rather then an assault rifle and stay away and snipe.

On another note, has anyone else noticed the over use of pistols?!?!?! it just seems odd?

Ehhh, oh well...good luck and have fun.
