Xbox no longer has a community due to the addition of parties. Now that people can make parties with their friends there is no longer a need to talk in game to other players. This has made xbox less fun because you cant meet new people.
It is true that the party system almost fully killed in-game communication. But when 80% of that communication is children screaming into the mic, people cussing out one another, people blasting music, etc... that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Personally, I think party chat should be automatically turned off during matchmaking. If it was made to better serve clans/friends then that's mostly consistent of custom game players, isn't it? I mean, think about it. What's
the point of playing vs and meeting new, (especially considering matchmaking usually serves a general group effort purpose), if you're not gonna communicate with them? As for children screaming in the mic, that's something mute or the player review system
could easily solve.
