The new xbox 360 update

I haven't got this update yet, but is it so that after the update your xbox can't read any games or only the ones that come on the new 9.7Gb disks??

Because it would kinda suck if you can't play any more games on your older console, especially since i just paid €90,- to get mine fixed. (wich is around $127,98)

And if you get a new console how are you supposed to transfer all your DLC, saved games etc. to the new console, you have to buy a data transfer kit for another 60 euro's, $85,32...

According to Major Nelson this problem was a problem with a previous update only so I wouldn't worry about it.

i just got an email back from the customer support, they didn't tell me what the exact update was where it went wrong, and it could happen to any xbox accept the new slim ones, so you're elite isn't sfe

Hello, while I was playing I go to the "dashboard" to change the game, suddenly I requested an update which I approve without any problems. After I insert the disc in my game and I do not read it, why is that? I hope it is a problem and that the update will restart soon ...

I emailed them a few days back and have yet to receive a reply. This sucks, I have LA Noire sitting right in front of me and every time I try to play it I get the same error. Come on Microsoft. Wish the other Xbox wasn't in the shop for repairs.

I updated my 2007 xbox today and as soon as the update finished installing my xbox got an E74 error. 4-ish years of running fine and right after the update it stopped working.
