Taken King still "unavailable" or "not available"

We have 3 Xbox Live accounts on our Xbox One.  Mine is the main one since I am the adult, so any purchases made via console fall under my account.  However, my boys have money on their accounts, so sometimes I'll make a purchase online via their account.  The expansion pass was probably ordered on my account, but either of the boys probably downloaded the DLCs once they became available.  But it's impossible for me to know who did what since the purchase of the expansion pack does not show up in any of our purchase histories.

In any case, once the Taken King digital download was made available for pre-order, my boys started to try to get it.  It has always said "unavailable" on the console and "not available" online no matter whose Xbox Live account we were signed in on.  Trying to buy it in-game doesn't work either.

Had we known ahead of time that all DLCs had to be purchased and downloaded under the same account, we would have.

How can my boys get the Taken King digital download for $39.99?  How can they get the pre-order items?

Sorry to hear it.  In order for The Taken King to be downloaded separately you would have needed to purchase both of the previous DLC's AND Destiny on the same gamertag.  If no one can access TTK then my presumption is that the game and content were each purchased on a separate tag.

Your only option here would be to purchase the Legendary or Collector's Edition.  It's a little more but will give you the game and all DLC up to TTK which you will be able to access and play on the console.

That would be a whole lot more and involve rebuying what we already have.  How else can this get fixed?  Can ownership be transferred?

Sorry but, as per Bungie and Activision, that is the only way.  If the game and previous DLC were not purchased on the same account you'll need to purchase via the other two links I provided.

I have to say I'm having the same issue....except I only have one Xbox live account and both dlc's are installed. If I try to purchase from in game nothing happens no screen pops up or anything.. The collectors and legendary editions show up for purchase but the standalone does not. It shouldn't be an issue if this Xbox is not my "home xbox" right? Same gamertag and all that.

Krohn - if you purchased the content on your account then you can purchase the standalone digital download from the following link.

store.xbox.com/.../ca85276b-8399-49d4-9bbe-426e53f17d4d

You should also be able to find it in the Xbox Store.

It seems Microsoft should be able to fix it as well.  Why not transfer licenses to the main Xbox account?

Sorry but there was never any option to transfer licenses.  It cannot be done.

A Bungie rep on their help forums told me that Microsoft Xbox Support may be able to help in transferring licenses... is that not true?

No, it is not true.  Xbox licenses cannot be transferred from one gamertag to another.  Bungie are the ones who set the requirements for getting the DLC, not Xbox.  If you would like their policy on the game to change then you'll need to continue contacting them.

I'm confused.  I keep seeing on the Bungie Help Forum that other people get licenses transferred by contacting Xbox Support.  What's different with me?
