Strange invoice e-mail from Microsoft

Hello,

today I got an e-mail with an invoice, containing some positions.

Looks like this:

Dear Test FirstName Test LastName,

This mail is confirmation that you have purchased the following items:

Date Confirmation# Item(s) Amount
10/24/2012 145957446 Store Test PurchaseBundleInput
- Store Test PurchaseProductItemInput

$1.49

You can see the word "Test" everywhere and although I am from Germany, I got this mail in english.
What's that?? I didn't buy anything. And I don't want my credit card to be billed.

I used Xbox Music for the first time yesterday and startet the 30 days trial period. Is there a connection?

Looks like some other users got these e-mails, too.

Please help.

Hello,

This doesn't look like something that Microsoft would send you. They also don't put a "test" on your card especially for the Xbox Music Pass trial. That e-mail may be a phishing attempt. Please make sure not to click any links in the e-mail at all and please visit the Microsoft Billing Site here and confirm this is the same thing you are seeing in the e-mail.

I haven't received this e-mail and I wouldn't trust something like this as if there was a charge, you would have seen it directly on your billing statement for your card. If you have clicked on any links within the e-mail, I highly suggest changing your password immediately.

Thanks for your quick reply.

That's what strange to me. There aren't any clickable links inside. So a phishing mail makes no sense.

I will check the header of the e-mail when I'm at home and the billing in my account.

Here is the whole email:

So I looked up the sender IP of the e-mail. It's 65.55.52.250, which resolves in "co1gmehub09.msn.com". Is this a regular Microsoft server?

Hmmm.  For something like this I would recommend contacting support and seeing what they have to say as no one on the forums can help with billing issues.
