Whoa, this just in. Some techheads on the STEAM pc version accidentally found out that the version everyone is playing is in fact the DEV-VERSION !!!!!

Someone at Techland actually messed up and sent out the wrong code !!!! PC gamers are playing the xbox 360 dev-code right now. It comes complete with the unlocked game activation code !!!

If you're wondering what any of this has to do with you, you might want to start wondering what version of the game got printed on your disc. There's actually a 99% chance you paid for a beta !!!!

read and weep:

( the original find)

(people getting upset ;) ) :

I have never in the history of gaming seen anything like this happen.... someone at Techland is going to be looking for a new job lol...

That certainly can't be good for the company. What a horrible mistake to make! I certainly feel for them if it's a genuine mistake. But if Techland do the right thing then more power to them. Mistakes happen in life.

And this is the reason I didn't preorder this game and won't be getting it until its completely sorted out.

Digital Steam versions are easily replaced but physical discs?? This is going to be getting the biggest patch ever...

Multiple question marks and exclamation marks, a sure sign of an insane mind..... :D

Ahhhh, Techland, you mucked up

They'll have to release an update like they did with Burnout Paradise if this turns out to be the case with the 360 version.

As much as it sucks, i can't resist laughing.

I have a couple of questions.  The title of the thread states "YOU PAID FOR THE BETA!!", then you show that people who bought the game on Steam mistakenly got the Xbox 360 Dev-code instead of the finished copy.   My questions are: Since when were Xbox 360 games sold on Steam?  Your posting on an Xbox forum, so what "YOU" exactly are you referring to?  It isn't the "YOU"  that bought the Xbox 360 version of the game, you know, the type of person who happens to post on an Xbox forum.

The PC version is basically a port of the Xbox 360 version.

It's speculated the Xbox 360 version is also dev code seems there's a planned patch fo the Xbox 360 version to fix it (posted on a Xbox 360 fansite).
