Spawn killing.

Why is this not considered cheating?

Because it only requires tactics and skill, not a third party accessory or hacking. I feel the same about glitching, it shouldn't be in the same classification as cheating.

Because someone can lay in their spawn and shoot you.

I'm kind of mixed on the whole issue, at times I think its cheap, and at times I do it myself.

I play mostly hc ffa. When it comes to nuketown .. if you are capable of taking damage, you're fair game.

I've had too many times where a guy would hide in his spawn area killing people, then cry foul when you killed him.

I've watched enough gameplay to know that on a map like that you are :

1.) Camping in your spawn, killing others

2.) Watching a spawn area kiling people as thay spawn

or

3.) Running from one spawn point to another

Also ... on many maps, I've noticed the successful players usually have a route they follow, knowing the spawn areas and what direction even to approach it from.

I guess I look at it this way .... the bigger the map, the dirtier spawnkilling is.

I get annoyed sometimes on the bigger maps when someone is watching a spawn, but oh well, I can do the same if I want.

ALL good player will tell you if your getting spawn killed it's you and your teams FAULT......People always complain about this on how it's cheap and NO skill...well how come "you" got spwan trapped? not the other way around? Since the most shooters i.e Halo, Rainbow, GRAW COD it's all about controlling spawns regardless of game mode. I have never been spawn trapped to the point that i/we cannot turn it around...

The problem is that there are spawn "points "to begin with :(

players should be re-spawn randomly where they are as far away from the other players (team) possible that way nobody can do it in the first place ;)

It is a legitimate tactic, however cheap. If your team can't work out of it, just back out.

Use a tactical Insertion to make your own spawn point? The maps are only SO big, and the spawns are pretty reasonable, I cant remember being spawn trapped in a long time (there are a FEW gamemodes and maps that are more "exploited), but its not too bad.

This is exactly how I feel about the tactic. At least in Rainbow you has the short invincibility time to do something about the spawn killers. But as soon as you spawn in this you get jack. So, you need to keep the other team out on game modes that have spawning areas like Rainbow and Ghost Recon. There is really nothing you can do about the random spawning game modes. Maybe they need to add something like the short invincible timer(2-3 seconds) on spawning like Rainbow.

I consider it cheating because it's like counting cards in blackjack. Of course, you can't really count cards anymore because they use more than one deck, but it's the same principle. I think Treyarch needs to implement something in their next game to correct predictable spawning just as the casinos corrected predictable cards. I don’t get mad at the players who do it, they’re just looking to win, but I don’t support predictable spawning.

I like this just like BC2 but it only takes ten seconds to reach the spawn instead of ten minutes.

"fixing" spawn killing is as communistic as death streaks from mw2. If you are getting spawn killed, its your own fault, you shouldnt get rewarded.
