Somehow it still will not work...

Okay, so I have two games that I KNOW should work with xbox 360...Halo: CE and GTA ViceCity.

I am currently using a Xbox 360 Slim 4GB, brand new from Gamestop, but have bought a 60GB HDD for it.

I tried clearing cache, deleting and re-downloading and installing the update, changed widescreen to normal and changed display res to 480p, and nothing. I even was on the phone with a specialist for an hour and he could not figure it out.

My setup is a HDMI cable plugged into my 32" LCD TV for HD Video and the video cable that came with it....the red and white plugs are hooked into my surround sound system.

But the weirdest thing of all is: When I put the disc in and close the tray it will say the game's name on the start game panel, but when I click on it, the screen goes black like it is going to start the game but then it exits back to Dashboard and a error message pops up that reads: "the game couldn't start. Try downloading the game again"

A bit odd considering this is a disc and NOT DLC. If someone could help me with this, I'd really appreciate it.

To play any Xbox Original games you must have an internal Xbox 360 HDD, which for the S models is this one: www.xbox.com/.../Home. The HDDs come pre-loaded with the required update to play backwards compatible games.

Not true. i did not have bloody $130 for the 250GB HDD so I went on ebay and this guy was from an online electronics store on ebay and he sold xbox slim HDD's in 20GB, 60GB, 120GB and 250GB...i got my 60GB for about $30. They are legit as all other forms of save data, information, etc save on it no problem, so I'm guessing it is missing the all fabled partition 2 file on the HDD...that PT2 enables backwards compatability...and i used a pgm to see the contents of my HDD on my PC and long and behold....it was missing the PT2 file! the file directory was actually there...just nothing in it....I've done research since I've first posted this topic btw...so i have an original xbox downstairs...but I was hoping to be able to everything on one system....if someone tech savvy can find a way to fix this let me know!

Sincerely, fatless

Microsoft only manufactures one HDD for the Xbox 360 S, and that's the 250 GB. If you purchased an HDD for this model console that was any other size, it is not an official product, and thus not officially supported. To play backwards compatible games, you will need to us an official Microsoft HDD.
