SOLUTION TO THE XBOX 360 DISK UNREADABLE ERROR FOR THE DISNEY INFINITY GAME

SOLUTION TO THE XBOX 360 DISK UNREADABLE ERROR:
(Says it cant install the updated because disk is unreadable)

When you put the Infinity Disk into the XBOX 360 the console must get a new update. It will try to update with the Disk. It may give an error saying It cant install the update, the disk is unreadable with error code: 3F4A-0000-3000-090E-8007-0002

DO THIS : set your XBOX up to your local network, it will ask for your WEP KEY CODE (Enter it) and then XBOX will connect to its server and say you need an update. It will update your system which takes a few minutes for some reason but it will work when the system reboots itself automatically. You then can put in your infinity disk and it will start to work. Apparently the update has something that is required for the game to work.

You can also download the update from your PC to a flash drive and put the unzipped file in the root directory and then insert into USB port of XBOX and turn on your console. It should upload the update from the USB that way too...

Either way if you get it on the network it will update then you can run the game.. Disney needs to get that fix out there to be known since so many people are having this issue.

Our XBOX 360 doesn't have network capability, so we've been trying to download the update a couple of other ways, and we've been having no luck.

We tried downloading the update and burning it to a CD-R. When we try to run the CD, the XBOX doesn't recognize the CD or says "Multi-media disc", but either way the XBOX won't run and download the software. We purchased an XBOX formatted thumb drive, downloaded the update and copied the files to it, and inserted the thumb drive into the USB port, and the only thing the XBOX would let us do is configure the thumb drive so it can be used as storage - and when we do so, all it does is erase the files from the thumb drive, without downloading the update. Someone at our local game retailer (the chain will remain nameless) suggested that the issue was that there wasn't enough memory available  on the internal drive to store and process the update, so we purchased and attached a 60 GB drive and tried the Infinity CD again - no change.

The Infinity CD doesn't appear to be an issue, because we've cleaned it and we've tried it on someone else's XBOX and the game ran normally (however, their XBOX is newer than ours - we have one of the white XBOX 360s from 2008).Clearing the cache had no effect, either.  My fiancée thinks we should attempt to reset the XBOX and  start again from the beginning.

Is buying a network adapter and trying to download the update via Wi-Fi our only option left? Should we try a reset? Take the XBOX in for repairs? Or is there another option we haven't tried yet? Thanks in advance.

Wizen,

Save the money for the network adapter and just move the console close enough to plug an Ethernet cord directly into the router. If this isn't possible maybe take it to a friends house to plug in. After you get the update you won't need to connect to the internet again.

Hope this helps.

That totally worked for me! Thanks! I connected with an ethernet cable and then connected to xbox live by:

1- Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and then select System Settings.

2- Select Network Settings.

3- Select Wired Network or the name of your wireless network, if you are prompted to do so.

4- Select Test Xbox Live Connection.

(instructions here: support.xbox.com/.../system-updates-info)

then the update downloaded automatically and my infinity game works now!

Hi,

I've done all of this. An update has been downloaded. I'm plugged in directly to my Internet. But the disk is still unreadable. It worked fine for about a month before it stopped. Help.
