Skype camera and settings

Will any more settings for skype be added?

The auto zoom feature is nice, but it randomly zooms in and out, or it zooms in on my feet instead of my face and idk how to make it focus on one thing.

I also tried turning the lights off hoping the ir camera would engage and it did not.

I think its poor design that you can not manualy adjust zoom other than on and off. you should be able to zoom in here and there.  I think the camera also needs video adjust like normal skype and a ir on off setting. If the kinect has it why not use it right?

Ive also noticed that it does not ever really zoom in far enough. Youre supposed to be what 6 feet away from it, will my caller can bearly see my face when the auto zoom does its best.

Thanks for your feedback on the auto zoom feature in Skype for Xbox One. We are continuing to evolve the functionality and features and your comments will be valuable in evaluating how we develop this feature further.

I'm curious what your use case is for manually zooming and panning. I can't see a use for it myself, but I'm happy to be receiv some inspiration :)

The IR "nightvision" mode is an interesting one - I agree. Would like to see that as well.

Maybe a nice smart-glass feature.. select where to zoom, how much (within limits) and camera mode.

And show your feed on the app.

Maybe even remember these settings for each person if they are sitting in approximately the same place.

Just to add another vote to this, a manual zoom would be very useful. Today we were using the auto zoom, just myself and my two year old on our end. The auto-zoom kept moving all over the place and was incredibly distracting, at best it centered only on me, at worse it was panning over and zooming out and then back in my face over and over. Eventually, I figured out how to turn off the auto-zoom. However, that left it so zoomed out that we couldn't really be seen on the other side of the camera, so we ended up sitting on the floor to finish out the skype conversation.

Ideally, it would be great to pick a manual "focus" point in the room where every one can be seen clearly, and that it doesn't need to try and get the zoom exactly right with the auto feature.

Yes Skype kinect zoom is definitely random, heaters, sofas anything but our head, seems to be worse with more than one, the concept is awesome, always complimented by clients when video conferencing, just random zooms aren't ideal, also likes to cut people off half their head etc, also can't find how to turn off zoom.

I would like to throw my hat into the manual zoom ring.

When I Skype with the grandkids, the Kinect doesn't quite pick us up because we are too far away. When I move a bit closer, it picks me up and zooms in perfectly, but zooms out when I sit down. I would like to see the zoom lock once it is where I like it.

How about letting the user pick the color scheme for the app. The "WHITE" theme burns my retina's out of my eyes...lol.

Agreed on manual zoom. Today I was skyping and it zoomed in real nice where it letterboxed my head and torso only it was for about a minute and then it went back to me on my sofa... I was happy for a little bit!
