Silver Weapon questions....

I have found many silver swords and greatswords(esp effective against the undead they say) and wonder if they can be improved with smithing.  I tried with a silver and quick silver ingot but they dont show up as available to smith.  Im only a level 40 smith i think.  Does this fall under the magic and enchanted perk maybe?  anybody?

No, silver stuff isn't upgradeable and pretty much just junk later on.

Yup, I was sad to find out that it isnt upgradeable. I dont think you can even make silver weapons yourself. Which is lame.

I agree.  I like the smithing system, but I think it could have been expanded upon so much more, such as: having the ability to use gemstones in weapons and armor, include more jewelry crafting options (circlets and ebony/daedric jewelry), and even being able to mix different ingots to craft hybrid armor.

Dude, ebony-glass hybrid would look sweet.

I can't even display my silver sword. It just falls off the wall plaques. I guess I could put it in the weapon rack but I prefer the two great axes I have there now and there is only the one rack in Breezehome. I don't think Bathesda really understands the real need to show off our loot yet. They're getting better but I want to hang stuff on my walls.
