Save games not working?

I have been experiencing an issue recently with saves for arcade games not loading whatsoever, it has happened with at least two of my games and is very frustrating as I have lost a lot of progress and I don't really have the time or patience to do again. It seems to only happen to games that i don't play for a few weeks or that I have  re-downloaded after a longer period of time. I have tried copying the saves to different storage devices and have also tried clearing my system cache, neither of which helped with my situation as the saves still do not read. Is there any solution for this or will I just have to start again?
