"The game couldn't start, try downloading the game again" when attempting to play original xbox games (i have an official microsft HDD)

Hello, my problem seems to be similar to many other users however the solution posed to them is due to the HDD not being official, mine is (even has the microsoft logo when selecting it from the memory menu on xbox dashboard :P). So as you can see i'm not sure what to do from here, i think my xbox 360 is uptodate however the console fails to recognise the BC update both the USB version and CD-R version so i'm not too sure on that one. Any help on what to try from here would be greatly appriciated, thanks.

Do you have any Xbox Original games that DO work on your console? Also, when and where was the HDD purchased? And as for the update, what happens when you try and update? Are you encountering an error message or code? If so, what does it say, exactly?

Did this solve your problem?

Sorry this didn't help.

Great! Thanks for marking this as the answer.
